Exclusive: Raheem Lawal Demands One And A Half Year Contract From Konyaspor
Published: January 19, 2014
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Konyaspor have moved ahead of Antalyaspor in the race for Nigeria international Raheem Lawal.
The 23 - year - old midfielder is now a free agent after terminating his contract with Mersin İdmanyurdu over unpaid entitlements.
And the Turkish Football Federation has rubber-stamped the decision of Lawal to leave the Tevfik Sırrı Gür Stadium, with his clearance in his possession.
High level discussions are going on between representatives of the Nigerian and Konyaspor.
However, the stumbling block in the chase is that Raheem Lawal wants to sign a one - and - a - half - year deal contrary to what is being proposed by the Konyaspor brass - a long term contract.
He does not want to commit his long term future to the Green and Whites so he can make a big move later.
Another point of conflict is that Konyaspor have not met the financial requirements of the former Mersin star.
All the parties hope to reach a conclusion before the end of the January transfer window.
