Statistically, Sivasspor attacker John Utaka is the most in - form marksman in the Turkey , having notched up 7 goals in his last 6 matches in the Super League.
No other striker in the Turkish topflight has managed that goal haul in the games under consideration.
With only 2 strikes in his first 15 matches, the Nigeria international has stated that he was not bothered the goals refused to flow earlier on.
“I was not under any pressure to score and I agree it can be a struggle. But in football, the pressure and stress are always there but those were my source of motivation.
“This pressure made me to work harder. Good, our coach and teammates always helped me .
“Consequently, I think I repaid the faith and of course my friends in the team and our coach Roberto Carlos contributed to this success,” John Utaka was quoted as saying by Fanatik.
The 32 - year - old will not make his third appearance at the World Cup after his name was omitted from the possible players expected to report for a training camp later this month.
