Nominated for the 2014 Best Premier League Player by the Malta Football Association alongside Paul Fenech and Denni Dos Santos, Birkirkara attacker Shola Shodiya has tipped himself to scoop the top honour.
The Nigerian striker was recognized for an outstanding season, having netted 14 goals in 31 starts for the vice - champions, his best tally since he arrived the Island Nation three years ago.
“It is not certain who the organizers would give the award to. But I think I will win the prize because of my performances this season.
“I worked very hard this season and I deserve the award. This is my best season in Malta,” Shodiya boasted to allnigeriasoccer.com.
