Kenneth Omeruo Delighted To Sign New Contract
Published: May 30, 2014
Nigeria international Kenneth Omeruo says he is elated to have penned a
new contract with Chelsea which keeps him at Stamford Bridge until the
end of the 2017 - 2018 campaign.
The Londoners must have faith in him as they have decided to offer him a new deal despite failing to make his official debut for the club.
The central defender recorded one appearance for the Under 21 Team before he was farmed out on loan to Middlesbrough, for whom he made 14 appearances.
“I’m thrilled to sign a new contract with Chelsea and am really excited about the future.
“To play at such a fantastic club is a real honour for me and I’ll be working incredibly hard to be successful. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time in England so far and can’t wait to get going,” Kenneth Omeruo told chelseafc.com.
Kenneth Omeruo - once of Standard Liege and ADO Den Haag - is currently training with the Nigeria squad at Philadelphia ahead of the World Cup.
He has been on the payroll of Chelsea since he was 18.
