Stephen Keshi Knows The Players That Will Grace The World Cup
Published: May 31, 2014
Nigeria manager Stephen Keshi says he is not losing sleep over the choice of players to grace the mundial which starts in Brazil in less than two weeks time.
All 32 countries, including Nigeria, participating at the World Cup must submit their 23 - man squad list to Fifa on or before June 2, therefore, Keshi must prune his squad to 23 latest Monday night.
“Yes, I have an idea of those who will go with us to Brazil but we will still wait till the last minute before we announce the list. June 2 is the date we are looking at, ” Keshi stated.
It must be noted that the next two friendly fixtures will take place after the squad list is sent to Fifa, meaning fringe players that did no stand out to be counted during the last exhibition match against Scotland in London might get the axe.
Out of the 30 players training in Philadelphia,USA, only 5 have made previous World Cup rosters - Yobo, Enyeama, Ejide, Odemwingie and Echijeile.
