Godfrey Oboabona To Face Late Fitness Test
Published: June 24, 2014
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon before the start of training, Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has disclosed that he will wait until the last minute before making a decision on the availability of Godfrey Oboabona for the showdown with Argentina.
The Rizespor central defender did not feature in the 1 - 0 win over Bosnia last Saturday due to a right foot complaint, and only resumed full training yesterday.
“One of my players, Oboabona is bruised, yes, but is returning. Let’s see if he will be fine tomorrow,”Keshi said to reporters.
Based on the last workout, everything indicates that Joseph Yobo will partner Kenneth Omeruo again at central defense just as he did for about an hour against Iran and the full 90 minutes against the Dragons.
It is confirmed that Argentina gaffer, Alejandro Sabella, will deploy a 4 - 3 - 3 formation against Nigeria.
