Omeruo Rescues Point For Pembroke Athleta
Published: September 22, 2014
Pembroke Athleta have to thank former Flying Eagles invitee Lucky Omeruo for saving them from defeat in their clash with Fgura United on Sunday.
The Maltese First Division side were trailing the opponents by the odd goal until Lucky Omeruo, the younger brother of Chelsea loanee Kenneth, popped up with the equalizer two minutes from normal time.
Lucky Omeruo was linked with a shift to Premier League club Birkirkara as well as Standard Liege over the summer, but none of the moves materialized in the long run.
Recall that immediately after the World Cup, Kenneth Omeruo visited Lucky in Malta to give him all the moral support while he was discussing with a couple of clubs in the Island Nation.
Pembroke Athleta are 11th on the 14 - team Division One table, with 1 point from 2 games.
