Ijebu-Igbo Hosts Kashamu Soccer Tourney

Almost 10,000 youths from states within South/West geo-political zone of the country are expected to storm Ijebu-Igbo for a money spinning grassroots soccer competition instituted in honour of a man of the people and the Chairman of Omo-Ilu Foundation, Prince Buruji Kashamu.
The motive behind the Under-18 Soccer Tourney tagged ‘Buruji Kashamu Unity Cup 2014’, which would be organize next month by A Square Sports International according to the Secretary General of Omo-Ilu Foundation Chief S. A Adeleye is to celebrates and positively engage the youth.
The National coordinator of A Square, Akinkunmi Akinpelu and Femi Onanuga that would be coordinating the event locally have assured all the expected participants a splendid experience claiming that the PDP Stalwart which the competition would be played in his honour has set aside mouthwatering incentives for winners and all participants.
“Prince Kashamu as most people might not know has a huge concern for better life of Nigerian youths which majority of them are languishing in the pool of unemployment and he believes sport especially football can be used to engage them and improve their lives”, Chief Adeyeye noted.
Facilities in Ijebu-Igbo would soon be under-going renovation in readiness for the mega soccer tournament while all youth clubs within Southwest that can boast of players that fall within the stipulated age for the tourney have been urged to contact the organizer for registration formalities.
