The Camels has wanted to reduce the gap after log leaders Kiryat Shmona were defeated by Maccabi Petah Tikva, but they lost at home for the first time this season.
About 5,000 fans taunted the Hapoel Beer Sheva players at the end of the tunnel after the game, and some individual fans accompanied them with curses.
According to ynet.co.il, midfielder John Ugo, who was probably not really used to things of this kind, did not remain indifferent and fans met him outside the stadium.
The Nigeria international took to social media to deny being involved in a misunderstanding with the fans at the Arthur Vasermil Stadium.
