Fanendo Adi States Reason For Celebrating Goal With Portland Timbers Coach
Published: March 16, 2015
Fanendo Adi has stated the reason why he had to celebrate his first goal of the season, which came against LA Galaxy, with Head Coach Caleb Porter.
Early this morning, the 24 - year - old netted his fifth brace in the uniform of Portland Timbers, scoring either side of the half before a late goal from Alan Gordon denied The Timbers the maximum points.
“Because he gives me a lot of motivation. He tells me I can do it and I shouldn’t think about the goal, I should just think about going in there and fighting, helping the team.
“And, for me, that brings a lot of courage. When I scored the goal the only thing that came to my head is to show him my appreciation,” Fanendo Adi said to the official website, timbers.com.
Only Clinton Dempsey (Seattle Sounders ) and Blas Perez ( FC Dallas) have scored more goals than Fanendo Adi in the MLS after two rounds.
