Kelechi Iheanacho Scores First Official Goal For Manchester City
Published: April 27, 2015
Former Golden Eaglets star Kelechi Iheanacho celebrated his return to action by scoring his maiden goal for Manchester City as their Under 18 side lost 2 - 1 to Chelsea in the second leg of the FA Youth Cup on Monday night.
Having lost the first leg 3 - 1, The Citizens got off to a dream start when Iheanacho converted Aaron Nemane’s cross from the byline in the fifth minute.
Their lead didn’t last long though, with Brown leveling matters for the Chelsea under 18s in the 19th minute.
On 22 minutes, Kelechi Iheanacho would have restored City’s one - goal advantage on the night, only for Collins to make a fine save.
And three minutes later, the Nigerian tested the goalkeeper again but his shot was easily saved by the outstanding Collins.
The game’s final goal was scored by Tammy Abraham immediately after the restart, ending the tie as a contest.
Twenty minutes from time, Kelechi Iheanacho was subbed off for Isaac Buckley-Ricketts .
