Nigerian Billionaire Aliko Dangote Interested In Buying Arsenal
Published: May 05, 2015
Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote has expressed his interest in purchasing English Premier League side Arsenal.
Around this time five years ago, the businessman registered his interest in the shareholding being sold by the club’s fourth largest investor as at that time, Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith.
“I still hope, one day at the right price, that I will buy the team. I might buy it, not at a ridiculous price but a price that the owners won’t want to resist. I know my strategy,” Dangote told Bloomberg.
But Aliko Dangote has stressed that he has not yet approached the shareholders to sell their stake in the London club.
“"We have 16 billion dollars-worth of investments in the next few years. Right now I want to take my own business to a certain level. Once I finish on that trajectory, then maybe, ” he concluded.
