Super Eagles winger Moses Simon has described reaching 100 appearances for Nigeria as a great privilege and a dream come true, while reaffirming his commitment to continue giving his best for the team.
The Paris FC winger reached the milestone after coming on in Nigeria's 2-1 victory over Madagascar in Uyo on Friday evening.
Simon was introduced in the second half, replacing former Sevilla striker Akor Adams at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
He showcased his qualities following his introduction, using his pace, directness and skills to take on defenders and create scoring opportunities for the Super Eagles.
Speaking at the post match conference, Simon expressed his gratitude to the coaches who have given him the opportunity to represent the country over the years.
"Thanks to the coach for the opportunity. Thanks to every coach that gave me the opportunity," Simon told reporters at the post-match press conference.
He admitted that he never imagined he would reach the 100-cap mark but said the achievement gives him great joy.
"Of course, this gives me joy and it is a great privilege to play for the Super Eagles," he added.
Simon also vowed to continue giving his best whenever he receives a national team call-up, stressing his commitment to the Super Eagles
"It is a dream come true. I never believed I would play 100 games but I believe one thing, whenever I am called up, I will be there to give one hundred percent," Simon concluded.
Following his appearance, Simon joined Joseph Yobo , Vincent Enyeama , Ahmed Musa and Alex Iwobi as players who have reached the 100-appearance milestone for Nigeria.
