Canada Set To Beat Nigeria And England In Race For Sam Adekugbe

After missing out on capping Tesho Akindele, the Nigeria Football Federation are lagging behind their Canadian counterparts in the race for another exciting prospect in Major League Soccer, Sam Adekugbe.
The 20 - year - old Adekugbe, who turns out for Vancouver Whitecaps, has been included in Canada’s roster for the World Cup qualifiers against Belize on September 4 and 8.
Born in London, the defender remains eligible to represent Nigeria, England and Canada at senior level even though he has caps for the youth teams of Les Rouges.
Head Coach Benito Floro has picked nine midfielders for the World Cup qualifiers including FC Dallas’s Akindele.
Sam Adekugbe was included in Canada’s 35-man provisional roster for the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup but did not make the final cut.
