Confirmed Super Eagles starting XI: Osimhen, Adams lead attack; Ajayi replaces Ekong; Fulham trio in

Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has announced his starting lineup for Tuesday evening’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying clash against Benin’s Cheetahs at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Chelle was expected to make at least one change to the side that defeated Lesotho last Friday, with Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman unavailable for selection due to suspension following accumulated bookings.
As anticipated, Lookman's spot has been handed to Fulham winger Samuel Chukwueze, who replaced the reigning African Footballer of the Year during the win over Lesotho.
Another change sees Akor Adams handed his first competitive start for Nigeria, a reward for scoring the decisive goal on his debut after coming off the bench in the previous match.
Stanley Nwabali retains his place in goal, shielded by a back four of Benjamin Fredrick (Dender EH), Semi Ajayi (Hull City), Calvin Bassey (Fulham) and Zaidu Sanusi (Porto).
In midfield, Alex Iwobi (Fulham) partners Wilfred Ndidi (Besiktas), with Chukwueze and Moses Simon operating on the flanks.
Up front, Victor Osimhen lines up alongside Adams, forming a powerful attacking duo.
Chelle’s bench options include Amas Obasogie, Adebayo Adeleye, William Troost-Ekong, Bruno Onyemaechi, Frank Onyeka, Alhassan Yusuf, Terem Moffi, Tolu Arokodare, Christantus Uche, and Olakunle Olusegun.
Confirmed Super Eagles Starting XI vs Benin: Nwabali; Fredrick, Ajayi, Bassey, Zaidu; Ndidi, Iwobi, Chukwueze, Simon; Adams, Osimhen.
