Enyimba shot - stopper Femi Thomas has confirmed that the home - based players, including himself, invited for the friendly games against DRC and Cameroon have not departed for their trip to Belgium as at Monday night due to a visa hitch.
And at this point, it is unclear if the traveling document will be issued on Tuesday by the Belgian embassy, though Nigeria Football Federation officials are doing all they can so the six affected players join their international teammates in Europe tomorrow.
“I am still in Aba, the issue is not from the players, we are still expecting the visas, ” Femi Thomas explained to allnigeriasoccer.com on Monday night at 1947 hours.
“We have not yet heard from the Belgian embassy, we have not yet heard anything. There has been no information from them.
“The Nigeria Federation has been in contact with us. They are trying their best to see we go tomorrow.”
Goalkeepers Femi Thomas and Ikechukwu Ezenwa, defenders Chima Akas and Austin Oboroakpo and Sunshine Stars duo Paul Onobi and Prince Aggrey are not the only invited players having visa issues.
