Golden Eaglets Train At Match Venue Ahead Showdown Against USA
Published: October 16, 2015
Ahead of their eagerly anticipated meeting with the United States of America, the Golden Eaglets trained at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos in Santiago on Thursday.
A day after arriving in Chile, the Emmanuel Amuneke - led side practiced at the Centro Deportivo Azul (CDA) in La Cisterna district of Santiago- which is the training ground of the popular local side, Universidad de Chile.
Amuneke admitted that the climatic conditions were not favourable to his team but hopes his boys put up a good performance and get a result against the Americans.
“This was our first real contact with the weather in training here in Santiago but unfortunately it is even colder than Buenos Aires where we had our training camp,” noted Amuneke.
“You can see that it’s difficult for the boys but irrespective of our circumstance and even the weather, we shall do our best and be ready for our first game against USA on Saturday.”
Football governing body, Fifa, has briefed the players and officials about the rules and regulations to be followed throughout the tournament.
