USA Coach Disappointed To Lose To Good Nigerian Team
Published: October 18, 2015
USA Under - 17s coach, Richie Willams, was disappointed with his side’s 2 - 0 loss to Nigeria in their opening Group A fixture, but was quick to praise the Golden Eaglets after they made his team look ordinary.
Of the five goal attempts by the Americans, none of them was on target and they will be without Auston Trust in their next game after he was sent off for a rash tackle on Victor Osimhen in the 87th minute.
“We are obviously disappointed because of the outcome. We played a good first half, we were balanced, solid and we even created some chance that we were not able to convert,” said Richie Willams.
“Nigeria scored two quick goals, but thank to unfortunate errors on our side. We were hoping to be more effective, but we lost against a good Nigerian team.”
