2025 Flying Eagles invitee battles George, 7 others for Chelsea's October Goal of the Month
Published: November 04, 2025
Chelsea youngsters Chizaram Ezenwata and Tyrique George have been shortlisted for the club’s Goal of the Month award for October following their impressive performances across youth and senior levels.
Ezenwata earned his nomination after his superb finish against Manchester City in the U18 Premier League Cup.
The young forward, currently in Qatar with the England squad for the FIFA U17 World Cup, bagged a brace as the Blues were beaten 3-2 by the Citizens.
After converting a penalty to open the scoring, Ezenwata struck again when he reacted quickest to a rebound from Ryan Kavuma-McQueen’s fierce effort.
Showing remarkable composure, he controlled the ball before firing into the net to complete his brace.
Meanwhile, Tyrique George was recognized for his composed finish against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup.
The 19-year-old rounded off a flowing team move, slotting home from close range after a clever assist from Jamie Gittens.
Other contenders for the prestigious monthly award include Moises Caicedo, Estevao Willian, Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli, Pedro Neto, Reggie Walsh, Jamie Gittens, and Alejandro Garnacho.
Ezenwata has been in scintillating form this season, scoring seven goals and providing one assist in just six Premier League 2 appearances.
Despite featuring for England at youth level, the teenage star remains eligible to represent Nigeria and was close to joining the Flying Eagles squad for the last FIFA U20 World Cup before Chelsea refused to release him.
Both Ezenwata and George will be eager to clinch the award as they aim to build momentum and make further statements in their promising campaigns with the Blues.
