Published: October 19, 2015
Obafemi Martins rescued a point for Seattle Sounders in their 1 - 1 draw with Houston Dynamo at the BBVA Compass Stadium in the MLS on Sunday night.
The home team, who have ex Enyimba star Rasheed Olabiyi in their ranks, went in front in the 65th minute through Ricardo Clark but Sounders restored parity eight minutes from time after goalkeeper Deric failed to stop Martins’s header off a corner.
Despite the draw, Seattle Sounders have their destiny in their hands and will qualify for the post - season play-offs if they beat Real Salt Lake next Sunday.
Martins has notched up 15 goals from 20 goals this term, and will surpass his best - ever goal tally in a single - season if he finds the back of the net 3 more times.
Seattle Sounders are fourth in the Western Conference standings after 33 games played.
