Published: November 02, 2015
Two former Nigeria youth - teamers- Nwankwo Kanu and Elderson Echiejile - expect the Golden Eaglets to win the Fifa Under 17 World Cup following their impressive display against Brazil on Sunday.
The odds favour the Emmanuel Amuneke - led side to contest the final on November 8 at the Estadio Sausalito, Viña del Mar, given that they have always been involved in the showpiece game of the tourney whenever they are the defending champions.
Nwankwo Kanu, who found the net 5 times at Japan 1993, said : “We are champions and we are champions in making.....Up Eaglets, up Nigeria. Well done boys, we are proud of all of you. Congrats Amunike.”
Ex Nigeria U20 international Elderson Echiejile added : “Up Eaglets. Through to the semi finals. Go for it boys, it’s yours #GoodPerformance.”
Nigeria have won four of their five games in Chile, scoring an impressive 17 goals in the process, while they have conceded 3 times.
