Retired Nigeria international George Abbey and Super Eagles vice - skipper Kenneth Omeruo have congratulated the Golden Eaglets after they made it to the Fifa Under 17 World Cup final for the eighth time.
Chelsea loanee Omeruo slotted in at center back for 90 minutes when the Nigeria U17s lost by a lone goal to Switzerland in the 2009 showpiece game, and scored in their thrilling 3 - 3 draw with Germany in the group stage.
“Congrats to our sparkling Golden Eaglets on reaching the finals, well done. #OneLastHurdle #Deliver #Cup, ” Abbey said via Twitter.
“When results go wrong the coach gets the blame/bullet. When things go right we should also commend/praise the coach #Amuneke #WellDone.”
