Victor Osimhen Not Chasing Fifa U17s Goalscoring Record
Published: November 06, 2015
Victor Osimhen has insisted that he is not chasing the goalscoring record at the Fifa Under 17 World Cup after netting his ninth goal of the tourney against Mexico, which puts him on a par with Sinama Pongolle and Souleymane Coulibaly.
Alongside skipper Kelechi Nwakali, who is touted as the poster boy of the Golden Eaglets, the Ultimate Strikers starlet has been carrying the team on his back and would love to win the Cup and is not thinking of personal glory.
“ I’m happy that I was able to match the record set by others in the past but that was never my ambition here,” said Osimhen
“The most important thing is for us to win the trophy on Sunday and that would be the greatest achievement for us.”
