Published: November 08, 2015
In a chat with President Muhammadu Buhari a day before the Golden Eaglets face off with Mali, coach Emmanuel Amuneke has vowed to win the Fifa Under 17 World Cup for the fifth time.
Recall that PMB was the ruler of this country 30 years ago when the Golden Eaglets won the first edition of the tournament in China, and he has tasked the team to repeat the accomplishment by beating the Young Eagles on Sunday night.
“It is a great pleasure speaking with you, Mr. President, and we want to assure you that we are going to do our best against Mali on Sunday to successfully defend the trophy,” Amuneke said, according to thenff.com.
The President also spoke with skipper Kelechi Nwakali, his teammates and the Nigeria U17s backroom staff, thanking them for qualifying for the final and urged the team to bring home the Cup.
