Owa Obokun Congratulates Eaglets, Vows To Keep Supporting Grassroots Football

The Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran has joined other soccer lovers in congratulating the victorious Golden Eagles, urging the Nigerian Football Federations not hands off of the boys but to monitor their progress so that they don’t fade away soon.
The Owa Obokun that was rumored to be dead some weeks back disclosed this in his Ilesa, Osun State palace while speaking a group of players that was selected from Oba Aromolaran National Under-17 Soccer Competition that was instituted in his honour.
The respected Yoruba monarch expressed his happiness over exploits of Nigeria Under-17 team that just won the FIFA Under-17 World Cup last Sunday in Chile adding that the prowess and dominance of Nigeria at the underage level necessitated his interest in donating the Cup for Nigerian youths in the particular grade.
“I was moved when watching how our boys dazzled the world during the last FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile, I think this effort will assist us sustain our pedigree in the world of youths football globally.
“Our youths are very important to us. The government cannot be left alone to meet their needs. When we functionally engage them, they will have little or no time for roaming about or engaging in nefarious activities.
“Getting them to be busy on the sporting field is very much recommended. At the end of the day, they will be useful to themselves, to their parents and to the country.”
He added : “The exploits of our Under 17 boys have been legendary. They have won world cups for Nigeria more than any other nation in that age grades. This is why I am interested all the more in the Under 17 tourney” Oba Aromolaran noted
