Plateau United FC Promoted To Nigeria Premier League
Published: November 11, 2015
The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has released a statement on the
sitting of its Appeals Committee in Abuja on November 9 which completely
overturned the earlier decision reached by its Organising and
Disciplinary Committee, O&D, on the contentious Spotlight FC of
Katsina and Plateau United FC match-day 14 game of the Nigeria National
League, NNL in Katsina.
In a statement released and signed by the Secretary of the Appeals Committee, Barr,. Okey Obi, the NFF respected the judgement of the Match Commissioner and the Centre referee by agreeing that the game in Katsina started by 4pm and disregarded the submissions of the match accessor.
It also stated that the Appeals Committee found out that the match officials were on duty with their wrist watches during the contentious game and since the Appeal filed by Plateau United FC of Jos has merit, the result of the Spotlight FC of Katsina and Plateau United FC of Jos tie in Katsina is upheld.
The Appeals Committee also quashed all the decisions of the O&D as regard the protests filed by Adamawa United FC of Yola and Spotlight FC of Katsina..
With the judgement of the Appeals Committee of the NFF, Plateau United FC of Jos have now officially advanced to the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, 2015/2016 Season and will join three other newly promoted sides, Niger Tornadoes of Minna, Mountain of Fire Ministries and Ikorodu United in Nigeria’s top flight next season.
Adamawa United will remain in the Nigeria National League for next season.
