Published: November 12, 2015
Manchester City defender Ashinme Kigbu says he is privileged to be one of the youngsters at the City Football Academy, having signed scholarship terms with The Citizens in the summer.
The 16 - year - old has revealed that opponents are mesmerized by the environment and are eager to impress during matches as they have dreams of representing the club.
“I think other teams get star struck playing here! ” said Ashinme Kigbu to mcfc.co.uk.
“I think it kills them because no other club would be used to a place like this, but it should motivate them as well because everyone wants to be here.
“Everything you could think of to help you develop as a player is here. It leaves it down to us really because they have catered for everything in every department, so we have to make the most of it.”
Born in Jos, Kigbu was courted by the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur before prolonging his stay with City.
