UYL: Former Right2Win midfielder Suleiman breaks his duck for Slavia in win against Arsenal
Published: November 04, 2025
Former Right2Win midfielder Mubarak Suleiman opened his goalscoring account for Slavia Prague's youth team in their 5-1 victory over Arsenal in a UEFA Youth League encounter on Tuesday afternoon.
The 18-year-old, who joined the Czech giants in September following a successful trial, has been described as a dynamic box-to-box midfielder with strong technical ability.
Suleiman was one of four Nigerians who started the match, alongside goalkeeper Khari Ranson, defender Josh Ogunnaike and midfielder Ife Ibrahim, all of whom featured for Arsenal.
Before the visit of the Gunners U19 side, Suleiman had featured in eleven matches across all competitions without finding the net.
Although he is yet to make his senior debut for Slavia Prague, the talented teenager has been named in four matchday squads for the club's B team, who compete in the Chance Narodni Liga, the second tier of Czech football.
An own goal by Ceadach O’Neill, coupled with strikes from Bartosz Szywala and Jakub Kolisek, gave Slavia a commanding 3-0 lead at half-time, before O'Neill pulled one back for Arsenal on the hour mark.
Suleiman remained a constant attacking threat throughout the contest, coming close on two occasions before finally getting his reward late in the second half.
His persistence paid off in stoppage time when his initial effort was parried by Ranson, but he reacted quickest to fire home the rebound in the 92nd minute.
The lively midfielder has featured in all of Slavia's UEFA Youth League matches this season, but the clash against Arsenal marked the first time he completed the full 90 minutes in the competition.
