Moses Simon NOT In Danger Of Missing AFCON Qualifiers, Set To Resume Training With Gent
Published: February 15, 2016
Gent exciting winger Moses Simon is expected to return to training on Monday morning, contrary to suggestions back in his homeland that he might miss the crucial African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt after picking up an injury three days ago.
The Nigeria international had to be substituted in the 28th minute in the Belgian champions 2-0 win over Mouscron-Péruwelz after receiving a kick but the injury is not as bad as first feared.
“It is inaccurate that he’ll miss the African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt, ” a source close to Simon told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“Simon had treatment yesterday and he’s due to train this morning with the team, he was kicked in the hip so it’s a slight knock.
“I believe if he trains today with no reaction or setback he will play against Wolfsburg in the Champions League.”
Moses Simon was rewarded with a new contract by Gent last month after a breakthrough season in 2015.
