Siasia Invites Daniel, Dimgba,Obanor And 27 Home-Based For U23s Get-together
Published: February 28, 2016
Nigeria Under-23s coach, Samson Siasia, has invited 30 players based in the domestic championship for a get-together ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.
The invited players have been told to report to the Serob Legacy Hotel, Wuye, Abuja camp on Monday 29th February, with training expected to commence the following day.
Emmanuel Daniel, Erhun Obanor, Sincere Seth, Stanley Dimgba and Ndifreke Effiong, who were part of the squad that won the Africa U23s in Senegal have been handed call-ups.
Samson Siasia has appealed to the clubs to release the players called up for the training camp as he wants to build the foundation of his team on the home-based in the event that the foreign-based professionals fail to honour call-ups.
“I know the league is just beginning and a lot of the clubs need their players to consolidate on the league, but the truth is that if we don’t start now, we might run into problem,” said Samson Siasia.
“I intend to build the foundation of this team on the players in the home scene, so as not to be caught off guard by the foreign pros.”
