Oliseh Threatens To Sue NFF For Tarnishing His Image; Was Not Paid N20 Million Before Quitting
Published: February 28, 2016
Sunday Oliseh has dismissed claims that he was paid N20 million prior to his resignation as Super Eagles coach and declared that he will sue the Nigeria Football Federation for tarnishing his image.
Shortly after the former Juventus midfielder tendered his resignation, the NFF claimed that he was paid N15 million being three months accrued wages and an additional N5 million for his housing allowance.
“When I was coach I couldn’t say or do anything, I am no longer coach,” said Sunday Oliseh to Brila FM.
“If they continue saying this I will ask my lawyers to take it up with them because as at 11:01 pm (on Thursday) when I sent in my resignation letter we have not been paid a dime.
“I spoke to my bank manager, nothing was paid. It is not a question of they paid me and I resigned, and even if they paid me it is my money that they are owing me.”
The Nigeria Federation moved quickly to appoint Dream Team VI manager Samson Siasia as interim manager following the resignation of Oliseh.
