In-form Rivers United Target Win Against Homers Giwa FC
Published: March 02, 2016
Rivers United and Giwa FC will clash in a match day four Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) contest of special significance on Wednesday, March 2, 2016at the Rwang Pam Stadium, Jos.
United go into the game in fine fettle. The Port Harcourt club have scored in every game this season and have amassed six points from a possible nine thus far.
They sit in third place with only Abia Warriors and Enugu Rangers ahead on the classifications.
However, the man that has directly contributed to all four United goals this season, Obomate Frederick (three goals and one assist) misses out due to Academic duties.
Technical manager of Dolphins, Stanley Eguma however believes the club will soldier on without their star man and says he has a good feeling about the outcome of Wednesday’s fixture.
“Jos has always been a (happy hunting) ground for (defunct) Dolphins FC.
“Today, we have a different club in Rivers United. I believe that the present squad can go anywhere and get a good result.
“We are very optimistic. We come to Jos with the intentions of amassing maximum points.
“They (Giwa FC) should not rule us out because we want to return to Port Harcourt with a positive result,” Eguma said.
Giwa FC started the season in the worst possible manner, losing 0-1 at home to FC Ifeanyi Ubah.
They however recovered enough to claim a point on match day two following a 1-1 draw away to Niger Tornadoes.
