In-form Rivers United Target Win Against Homers Giwa FC
Rivers United and Giwa FC will clash in a match day four Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) contest of special significance on Wednesday, March 2, 2016at the Rwang Pam Stadium, Jos.<br /><br />United go into the game in fine fettle. The Port Harcourt club have scored in every game this season and have amassed six points from a possible nine thus far.<br /><br />They sit in third place with only Abia Warriors and Enugu Rangers ahead on the classifications.<br /><br />However, the man that has directly contributed to all four United goals this season, Obomate Frederick (three goals and one assist) misses out due to Academic duties.<br /><br />Technical manager of Dolphins, Stanley Eguma however believes the club will soldier on without their star man and says he has a good feeling about the outcome of Wednesday’s fixture. <br /><br />“Jos has always been a (happy hunting) ground for (defunct) Dolphins FC.<br /><br />“Today, we have a different club in Rivers United. I believe that the present squad can go anywhere and get a good result.<br /><br />“We are very optimistic. We come to Jos with the intentions of amassing maximum points.<br /><br />“They (Giwa FC) should not rule us out because we want to return to Port Harcourt with a positive result,” Eguma said.<br /><br />Giwa FC started the season in the worst possible manner, losing 0-1 at home to FC Ifeanyi Ubah.<br /><br />They however recovered enough to claim a point on match day two following a 1-1 draw away to Niger Tornadoes.
