Fleetwood Town boss Steven Pressley has revealed that former Nigeria international Shola Ameobi had to return to the starting XI for the 2-1 win against Gillingham FC on Tuesday night due to his aerial threat.<br /><br />Having started on the bench in the League One tie against Coventry City, the former Newcastle hero repaid the manager&rsquo;s faith by opening his account in the ninth minute of the contest at Highbury Stadium.<br /><br />&ldquo;One of the reasons I made the change tonight with Shola coming back in was because they were a team in general who gave up opportunities to cross against them,&rdquo;&nbsp; Steven Pressley told reporters.<br /><br />&ldquo;We managed to cross brilliantly for his goal, and in the early stages of the game he was a constant threat for us. &rdquo;<br /><br />The 34-year-old Ameobi, who is tied to Fleetwood Town until June, has suited up five times for the club in the third-tier.<br /><br />Photo Credit : fleetwoodtownfc.com<br />
