Exclusive:NFF President Pinnick Insists No Chartered Flight To Egypt For Super Eagles
Published: March 17, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed that the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, has proposed that the Super Eagles will fly out to Cairo for the return leg of their African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt with a commercial airplane.
At a meeting on Thursday in Abuja, Pinnick sounded it loud and clear that the Nigerian Federation has embarked on cost-cutting measures due to dwindling margins and can’t afford to charter a plane to ferry the squad and major stakeholders to Alexandria.
On the other hand, the Egypt national team will arrive in Kaduna, venue of the game, aboard a chartered flight on Tuesday, March 22, three days before they face off against their West African opponents.
Meanwhile, the Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation and the coaching staff continued to make their permutations regarding the players that will be included in the starting lineup against Egypt.
And one of the interesting names that came up was Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho, who has only one cap to his name earned against Swaziland in a World Cup qualifier last November.
