Eguma Goes For Total Attack Versus Ikorodu United
Published: March 27, 2016
The Rivers United technical manager, Stanley Eguma has gone with virtually the same side that drew 0-0 with Sunshine Stars on match day eight of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) for the game with Ikorodu United.
Eguma has however tweaked his tactics as for the first time this season, the former Dolphins gaffer goes with a 4-3-3 formation.
Sunday Rotimi starts in goal for the Port Harcourt club while the same back four that got the nod to start against Sunshine Stars at the Yakubu Gowon (former Port Harcourt Liberation) Stadium will get yet another chance at the Onikan Stadium.
Chiwendu Ali starts at left back, Chigozie Ihunda is the preferred right back while the duo of Gabriel Olalekan and Festus Austin are the centre halves.
Yusuf Jaiyeola, Christian Weli and Christian Weli all start in midfield while a three pronged attack of Wilson Andoh, Chukwunonso Okonkwo and Guy Kuemian will be saddled with the responsibility of providing the goals for the Pride of Rivers.
Rivers United are currently in 11th place in the NPFL standings with 10 points from eight matches.
