Published: April 01, 2016
Gabriel Agbonlahor will not feature against Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, Aston Villa have announced via official sources.
Aston Villa have tweeted that the former England international, who has Nigerian descent, has been suspended and an internal investigation is currently underway.
The West Midlands outfit are silent on the offense committed by Agbonlahor but reports in the British press suggest that the player is in hot water after he was caught smoking shisha pipe while on holiday in the United Arab Emirates.
The 29-year-old has made 18 appearances for Aston Villa in all competitions this season, including 15 in the Premier League.
Gabriel Agbonlahor has spent the whole of his career with The Claret and Blue Army apart from two brief loan spells with Watford and Sheffield Wednesday.
