Coquelin Believes Alex Iwobi Will Motivate The Young Stars At Arsenal
Published: April 01, 2016
Francis Coquelin believes Alex Iwobi’s progress at Arsenal this season will motivate up-and-coming talents at the club that they have a chance of breaking into the first team if they work hard in training.
The Nigeria international netted his first Premier League goal against Everton before the international break; few days after he made his first Champions League start against Barcelona at the Nou Camp.
“We’ve got a few who have joined in with training, such as Jeff Reine-Adelaide - he’s a big talent - and Chris Willock as well,” Coquelin told arsenal.com
“There’s a lot of talent there and for them to see Alex breaking into the first team will give them a sign that there’s a chance for young players to come through.
“What Alex has done is unbelievable. He played really well against Everton and he can help us a lot in the final push.”
Iwobi, who joined Arsenal at the age of seven, could make his 15th appearance for the first team on Saturday against Odion Ighalo’s Watford.
