Head coach of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministeries Football Club of
Lagos, Fidelis Ilechuckwu is excited after his wards lifted their
first-ever Lagos State Football Association Cup on Sunday at the Agege
Stadium.
The Olukoya Boys dumped Bridge FC of Lagos 4-0 courtesy of two goals from Sikiru Olatunbosun, a goal each from Onuwa Chukwuka and captain Kennedium Nelson to emerge the 2016 Lagos F.A Cup champions.
Olatunbosun opened the flood gate of goals in the 41st minute with a fine left-footed shot, he doubled the lead three minutes into the second half with another great goal off a solo effort.
Onuwa netted the third goal of the game in the 50th minute while the captain of the Cup Champions, Kenedium registered the fourth goal of the match in the last minute of the encounter.
An obviously elated coach Ilechuckwu said: “ I’m very very happy for winning this trophy we’ve been targeting for years, thank God we won it at last.
“My players did so well and played according to our plan. I’m very proud of them because this F.A Cup means a lot to me.
“I want to say kudos to them for a job well done. I believe this victory will motivate us going into our next league match against Enugu Rangers this Wednesday,” he told MFM FC Media.
MFM FC and Bridge FC will represent Lagos state in the national finals which will kick off later in the year.
