Ahmed Musa Vows Super Eagles Will Compensate Fans By Qualifying For World Cup
Published: April 07, 2016
Super Eagles vice-captain Ahmed Musa has shared his thoughts on the national team’s failure to qualify for the 2017 African Cup of Nations on the heels of the 1-0 loss to Egypt in Alexandria last month.
The CSKA Moscow frontman has stated that the Super Eagles will compensate the fans by qualifying for the World Cup which will hold in Russia in the next two years.
“We have not been able to beat Egypt at home after we conceded! This is bad, but not terrible. Now Nigeria prepares for the World Cup qualifying tournament,” said Ahmed Musa to sport-express.ru.
“We really want to go to Russia. People ask me about my country, I tell them a lot. It’s a big goal, which we all are attracted.
“Nigerians are very fond of football. Our fans deserve to be pleased with their team.”
Ahmed Musa was named in the starting XI by interim coach Samson Siasia in both games against the North Africans.
