Roma Hoping To Steal A March On Chelsea, West Ham In Race For Orji Okonkwo
Published: April 08, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed that Italian club AS Roma have leapfrogged Chelsea in the race for Nigeria youth-teamer Orji Okonkwo.
It is understood that Football College Abuja, who own Okonkwo’s sporting rights, have reached an agreement with cooperative team Spezia over the transfer of the striker and processed his work permit.
Spezia have an excellent relationship with Roma and recently did transfer business with the capital team regarding the transfer of two Nigerian talents Sadiq Umar and Nura Abdullahi.
The Little Eagles have all but reached an agreement in principle with The Giallorossi for the player to join the Serie A side on loan upon his arrival in Italy.
Orji Okonkwo was proposed to Chelsea and West Ham by former Nigeria international Danny Shittu after the teenager put himself in the shop window at the 2015 Fifa Under 17 World Cup.
