Ezekiel Bassey Claims Proposed Move To West Ham Is Very Much Alive
Published: April 16, 2016
Enyimba frontman Ezekiel Bassey has claimed that his proposed move to West Ham is still very much alive, close to three months after he was first linked to the Londoners.
The Nigeria international has been invited to train with West Ham, with the possibility that he will be offered a contract with effect from this summer if he impresses the coaching staff led by Slaven Bili.
With Nigeria champions Enyimba participating in the CAF Champions League, Bassey has not been able to submit his international passport to the British Embassy for the processing of his visa.
“My trials with West Ham is not off, they have already sent me an invitation. I have not started processing my visa because of our Champions League games, ” said Ezekiel Bassey to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“No date was specified for me to travel to London, as soon as I get the visa I will contact the club and travel.”
In recent years, Ezekiel Bassey is the second Nigerian star playing in the domestic championship that has been invited to try his luck with the Hammers, with Azubuike Egwuekwe failing to tie up a deal with the club before his shift to KuPS.
