Published: May 25, 2016
Osmanlıspor midfielder Raheem Lawal is about boarding a plane at the Madrid airport to Normandy to link up with his international teammates, two days before they face off against Mali in an international friendly.
The former Atlético Baleares star is in the possession of a Spanish residence permit, so didn’t require a visa to travel to France since both countries are in the Schengen region.
“I have a Spanish residence permit, so I don’t need a visa to travel to France, ” said Raheem Lawal to allnigeriasoccer.com on Wednesday morning.
“I will be in camp this afternoon, I want to board my flight from Madrid now.”
Lawal had not been called up for international duty with the Super Eagles for close to two years before he was handed a lifeline by interim Nigeria coach Salisu Yusuf.
