Exclusive : Flying Eagles Star Kingsley Michael Not Joining Echiejile At Monaco
Published: August 03, 2016
Reports claiming that Nigeria U20 international Kingsley Michael has joined Elderson Echiejile at Monaco are wide of the mark.
As previously reported by this website, clubs based in Europe have dropped their interest in the midfielder despite putting himself in the shop window at the 2015 Fifa Under 17 World Cup.
“Kingsley Michael is not training with Monaco, except there is another Monaco in Nigeria. I saw him at the National Stadium in Abuja on Monday (August 1), though he was not there to train, ” a source at Football College Abuja told allnigeriasoccer.com.
Michael is 16 years now and not eligible to sign a professional contract with Monaco or any European club until August 26, 2017.
The former Chievo Verona target appeared five times for the Golden Eaglets at the 2015 Fifa U17s and scored once during the tournament in Chile.
