Ola Aina, Moses Star; Tomori, Abraham Not Involved In Chelsea Win Vs AC Milan
Published: August 04, 2016
Two Nigerian players were in action for Chelsea in their impressive 3-1 win over AC Milan in an International Champions Cup clash staged at the U.S. Bank Stadium (Minneapolis, Minnesota) on Thursday morning.
Manager Antonio Conte named the outstanding young defender Ola Aina and Super Eagles creator Victor Moses in his starting XI while England U19 stars Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham did not get game time.
In the 24th minute, the deadlock was broken by Bertrand Traore when he nodded home after Moses’s shot was saved by goalkeeper Donnarumma, before Bonaventura restored parity for Milan thirteen minutes later.
Oscar bagged a brace in the second half to give the Blues their second win in the International Champions Cup.
While Moses was substituted in the 52nd minute, Aina was replaced by Ivanovic seven minutes later.
Chelsea have one final pre-season match with Werder Bremen before their Premier League opener against West Ham on August 15.
The squad will fly to England on Thursday before facing the Germans three days later.
