Published: August 19, 2016
According to information gathered by allnigeriasoccer.com, CD Feirense attacking midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo has been ruled out of Nigeria’s bronze medal match against Honduras at the Olympic Games on Saturday.
The 20-year-old has not kicked a ball since August 10 when he picked up a hamstring problem in the Dream Team’s final Group B fixture against Colombia.
On Thursday evening, Etebo followed the rest of the players for their workout at SESC Venda Nova in Belo Horizonte, but trained individually and was involved in light sessions like jogging.
And after the training session, Nigeria U23 medics finally ruled him out of the contest at the Estádio Governador Magalhães Pinto.
Oghenekaro Etebo scored four goals from his three appearances at the Olympic Games.
