Chelsea Boss Hints Talented Nigerian Defender Ola Aina Will Get More Game Time
Published: August 24, 2016
Chelsea coach Antonio Conte has hinted that Nigerian defender Ola Aina will get more playing opportunities this term.
The 19-year-old fullback made his first-ever appearance for Chelsea in their hard fought 3-2 win over Bristol Rovers in the Football League Cup on Tuesday night, and had to be substituted in the 78 minute after picking up an injury.
“It’s right to give opportunities to young players like Loftus with great talent to stay with the first team and help us. It’s the same for [Ola] Aina, ” Conte said to chelseafc.com.
Michy Batshuayi (2) and Victor Moses struck for the Blues, while Hartley and Harrison found the net for the League One outfit.
Aina made Chelsea’s 18-man squad for the first two games of the new season, against West Ham and Watford.
