Published: August 24, 2016
Oghenekaro Etebo’s bonafide representative has poured cold water on reports linking the attacking midfielder with a possible transfer to Valencia, amid rumours that he will be scouted by the Spanish club.
The 20-year-old put himself in the shop window at the recently concluded Olympic Games, starring in Nigeria’s 5-4 win over Japan in their opener.
“I have not been contacted by any Valencia scout regarding Etebo, maybe they contacted CD Feirense, ” Etebo’s rep said to allnigeriasoccer.com.
Valencia sporting director Jesús García Pitarch was contacted by allnigeriasoccer.com’s editorial staff, but has not replied to a text message sent to him as at the time of filing this report.
Etebo has resumed light training at CD Feirense after picking up a hamstring injury against Colombia at the Olympic Games.
