Published: September 02, 2016
Dream Team VI star Taiwo Awoniyi headlines the list of Nigerian players that can feature for Liverpool in the English Premier League this season.
But the former Nigeria U17 international could be spending the whole of the 2016-2017 season at Dutch club NEC Nijmegen, pending the issuance of a work permit.
Ibadan-born Bobby Adekanye, ex-Golden Eaglets trainee Ovie Ejaria and England U19 international Sheyi Ojo all made the Reds roster for the Premier League and were classified as U21 players.
Portugal U23 international of Nigerian descent Tiago Ilori could not be sold or loaned out before the close of the summer transfer window, and his name was included in the 25-man squad list.
Aside from Sheyi Ojo, all of the aforementioned players have not played for Liverpool in the Premier League but that could change in the new season.
