1899 Hoffenheim loanee Kevin Akpoguma was named in the starting line-up as Germany U21s thrashed Slovakia 3-0 in an international friendly.
The central defender, who has been approached by the Nigerian Federation to represent the country, was involved in the opening goal scored by Grischa Prömel.
In a UEFA U21 Championship qualifier, Queens Park Rangers youngster Olamide Shodipo impressed on his debut for the Republic of Ireland U21s, who beat Slovenia 2-0.
The winger almost opened his account for Ireland but goalkeeper Sorcan tipped his shot over the bar. His goal was disallowed in the second half. Shodipo played the full game.
At the Hibernians Stadium, Joseph Mbong played the entirety of Malta’s 3-2 loss to Belgium in the UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifiers (group 1).
FC Dallas frontman Tesho Akindele was in action for 56 minutes as Canada fell to a 2-1 defeat by Honduras in a World Cup qualifier.
