Rio Olympics Hero Daniel Wants To Be Ikeme Understudy In Super Eagles
Published: September 03, 2016
Exactly two weeks after he helped Nigeria to win the bronze medal game at the 2016 Olympic Games, Enugu Rangers netminder Emmanuel Daniel is in line to make his international debut against Tanzania today.
In truth, the odds are in his favour, as Wolves goalkeeper Carl Ikeme arrived late in camp amid claims that he may be nursing a minor injury.
“First of all, I am very excited to be among the Super Eagles players. I can’t express how happy I am, I thank the coach, everyone for the support and everything, ” Daniel said.
“It is not easy to be called to the Super Eagles but I thank God He made it possible. I am here to learn from the goalkeepers that are here.
“I have watched most of them and I think I have learnt too much from them playing and I believe I can still learn when I am playing with them to improve my game and help my country Nigeria. ”
Emmanuel Daniel posted two shutouts at Olympic Games, against Sweden and Denmark.
